Default Which one? MS OneCare - Norton - NOD32

My laptop: Sony AR250g Win. XP

Been using MS OneCare but my sub. is up. Also use Spybot and Ad-Aware and CClearner.

Only complaint about OneCare is it's not very interactive, maybe a good thing, No News is good News, but should I be concerned?

I need full protection and this sony seems fast enough to handle a large virus program without effecting the speed/performance.

I don't want a bunch of different software, just one that will keep an eye on everything and keep me protected.

NOD32 would be the best out of your choices and it has the lowest memory footprint.

I started looking at NOD32, been seeing a lot of recommendations from here. Does it cover everything well? I used Norton that came with this when it was new, 30 day trial, and it seems pretty active. Will NOD32 do the same?

AVG free + Spybot "search and destroy" (also free) combo is the best solution out there.
there is no reason to pay for anything

I have Norton Internet Security 2008, and it doesn't have nearly the resource footprint its older siblings have. It's very user friendly and isn't complicated.

I don't see why people bash Norton so much. Out of all the AVs I have tried, Norton has been the best and easiest to work with. Plus my college readily supports almost all Symantec products before anything else.

I download a lot of crap, and so far, Kaspersky has work as the best antivirus. And AVG as the best anti-spyware.
They also use way less resources than Norton.
