I agree with flanken and Chazman............
Desktop and Notebook cards are different in terms of performance.....usually desktop cards are faster.
take a look at the desktop 6600 and the notebook 6600:
Desktop: Core: 300MHz@ 2400Mp/s Mem: 700MHz @ 11.2GB/sec
Notebook: Core: 300Mhz/375MHz/etc. Mem: 600/700MHz @ 9.6GB/s / 11.2GB/sec
