Default Alienware OptX AW2210 LCD Review Discussion

Alienware is a controversial brand. They often deliver high performing products, but there's also an accompanying high price tag. One of the ways they try to stand out is through unique styling, and recently the company went through a complete redesign. The new identity is aggressive and futuristic, and the Alienware OptX AW2210 display fits it to a 't'. Read on for our full review.

Honestly I wouldn't list the touch sensors as a pro. They're heat-sensitive which means they'll run into trouble if you put a second monitor next to it...at least, that's what happens to my Dell with what appears to be very similar buttons. I have to tweak my second monitor just right, otherwise the heat it throws off causes the buttons to strobe.

That didn't happen with my setup, though I suppose it's worth letting others know about the potential. Also, I would have typically listed them as a con like I have in the past -- but they worked so darned well I was really surprised.

Three Hundred Dollars?

I'd much rather have the Dell US 2209WA reviewed earlier. Can't you buy 21.5in 1080p TN monitors on newegg for about half the price of this? That 150 dollars would buy one hell of a nice video card to push all those pixels. Granted the stand won't perform sexual favors for you and there are no heat sensitive buttons for you to sneeze on, but still....
