Sata cable differences
I Have 3 sata cables but all 3 have different descirption numbers. how do I know which ones are sata 3 or 2 ?
Cable 1: Lian feng E209329 serial ata 26AWG AWM 21149 30v 80c FT1 FT2 -F-
Cable 2: ASAP RJ AWM E321011 style 21149 vw-1 80c 30v serial ATA 26AWG
Cable:3 HF-SATA E320444 RJ AWM STYLE 20851 80c 30v VW-1
I dont know what any of those numbers mean. which cables are better than the other ?
also any software recomendations for benchmark tests ?
In most cases the cable does not make any difference since the connectors are the same. However SATA3 is more aggressive when it comes to timings and interference, so some cables might cause problems. Only way to find out is to try it.
I think you should ask to your hardware Engineer because if you connected wrong cable then it may cause some serious problem.
Most cases, no difference at all.
If it makes you feel better psychologically, then buy ones that are clearly marked (or marketed) as SATA3.
To make it even more interesting, get another SATA2 and bench the drive performance with:
