Default Can't set up new video card Paviliion a1130n

I have a Pavilion a1130n which I have upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit. My old video card which is a ATI Radeon Xpress 200 built into the motherboard is not working the best with my Win7. I've lost some functionality like hitting alt F5 to change monitors. No stand alone drivers available for this card because of age. So stuck with Win7 drivers. I purchased a new video card. A Sparkle GeForce 8400GS card to put in the computer. When I install the card and boot up it takes the computer 10 minutes to boot. When I try to install the drivers, the CD runs and install but I can't change any settings or do anything with the card. I disable the old video card before I try installing the new one also. Any help would be appreciated. Is it possible the card will not work with my PC?
    Thanks
    Russ

Uninstall the drivers for both the ATI and Nvidia card through the Control Panel and try a driver cleaner such as driversweeper or its successor Driver Fusion in safe mode.

After that, restart and download the drivers from the Nvidia Website as drivers on the disc are likely old. If it still takes 10+ min to boot, double check that the card is properly seated.
