I am building my own desktop and I am looking for some advice on the WD Caviar Black - or any other suitable options.

My bootable drive will be a 128 GB Samsung 830 SSD - so that takes care of the boot performance. Most of my software should fit on that. I am not a hardcore gamer (I might get a few games, so my game data should also fit on the SSD).

What I need the Hard Drive is for my music + pictures + documents. My thinking is to go for a quiet, reliable, low power + low thermal signature HDD... and on this count, I have read some negative reviews on the Caviar Black.

I am looking for a recommendation for a 5400 RPM drive instead. Will a Caviar Green do the job? Or are my concerns about the Caviar Black misplaced?
