Reformatting computer a lot.
Hi. I just build a new computer and I had to reformat it due to some problem. I was just wondering, by reformatting a computer a lot, does it only affect the harddrive and thats IT or does it cause wear to other parts of the pc such as CPU or GPU or ram?
Thanks!

Formatting isnt really anything special from the PCs point of view, its just read/write operations. Doesnt wear the PC down any more than copying files back and forth.

How much is a lot? As sprint said for the most part its a moot point, however excessive reformats can noticably reduce the life an SSD, more to the point is finding why you nned to reformat so often, pinpointing the problem and correcting it seems the logical course of action. More details could help with a diagnosis.
