Default another first time builder post need advice on motherboard for 3960x

Need a good motherboard and cooler for Intel Core i7 Extreme i7-3960X 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor

This is what i own already still haven't put together.....now i didnt pay those prices just grabbed it off pc part picker to make it easy to show what i got specifically

REMEMBER I DIDNT PAY THESE PRICES FOR THESE ITEMS I CURRENTLY ONLY SPENT OUT OF POCKET FOR THIS WHOLE LIST MAYBE 1500 DOLLARS

anyways i wanted to know what motherboard and cooler would i need for the 3960x i can still return the current motherboard i have and the cpu cooler.

My reason being to getting the 3960x well my friend owes me money and its free all i have to do is give him my i5 so he can put in his very mini new mobile desktop now it works and all too so its not burnt out and only 1 month old. My uses for this desktop will be pretty much gaming no need for a xtreme processor over an I5 i know but my gf does use Photoshop and video editing so this would help her and this great of a deal why not i dont plan on upgrading components for another 4-5 years.

So overall does my setup work?
Do you think i will need bigger PSU like 1000w?
and for me will there be any benefits of I7 3960x over I5 3570k?

Thank you all for the future replies i am getting the CPU this week so just want to know if its really beneficial cuz i have to get a more expensive motherboard and cpu cooler and maybe PSU

I'd say get a higher resolution monitor... what kind of gaming are you doing? That's some insane horsepower running a fairly small display overall. I'd personally be looking at a 27" 2560x1440 IPS display, unless you're requiring 3D gaming.

The 800W PSU is cutting it a little close, but it should be fine.

W7 Home is great, unless you want to upgrade past the 16GB. Just something to think about. You can always do the Windows Anytime upgrade if you need to.

I'm not really a fan of wireless keyboards, but that's all personal preference. The mouse is a little overrated IMO, too. I prefer the G700 myself, but there are a lot of better mice out there for a lot less.

Well eventually i am doing 3 24inch 120hz monitors and maybe some 3d depending how optimized it is for the game i know 3d has come a long way since 2010 when i saw it. I play BF3, COD,Skyrim with mods, crysis 1+2, diablo 3. metro, sins of solar, supreme commander 1, and witcher 2 along with others. I want everything to be put to the max and to hopefully stay that way for another 2-3 years (heres hoping lol)

And i think i should me more than good with 16gb as you said if i need to add more i can always upgrade most games only require 4
I was looking at higher res monitors but i want the 120hz refresh rate and quick response time for FPS games so not really available at higher res plus i love the light boost technology that BenQ has with their monitors
would the 2gb be the bottleneck on 3 monitors with the 680s because even though i have them i can still trade them for 2 670s with 4gb and backplate for same price reason i went with the 680s in the first place was same price.

also i got the razer mamba on sale from my friend for 72 dollars also like the fact that i can make it wired if i want too had the RAT 9 wasn't a fan thought it would have been an awesome mouse but was too odd. my gf has the older version before the g700 its nice i like it too I would never pay full price for the Razer its ridiculous for what it does but serves my needs well
as for wireless if fits my needs and i use it when i have my m18x R2 connected to my 67 inch so makes for easy swapping around and not having to worry about wires hence why i like the razer mamba too.

Well i havent opened the box for the 800w unit i can return it and and get the 1000w unit just loose out on shipping and pay a little extra just to be safe with power i dont plan on adding a 3rd card because that is when it gets hard with drivers but who knows OCD might kick in hence why i want a 4 way sli board i can always trade for 690s when my friend gets bored and moves on to the next best thing of the month and i get scraps

I got Asus P9X79 DELUXE ATX LGA2011 motherboard for 269.99 at micro center.
    I got the
Thermaltake CLP0587 140mm frio CPU Cooler but it covers my ram slots I have 16GB 4x4 but I can only put in 2 in the cooler is to big
Any ideas on a better CPU air cooler or I guess I can do water cooled but something that is simple and reliable
