Help me pick a processor for my rig
I have been browsing computer parts lately, and I've finally decided on most of my rig.
There is one problem...
I need help deciding on what processor.
The mobo I've decided on is an ASUS M5A78L-M LX.
I want either a high end dual core, a medium range 3 core, or a low end quad core.
I'm not looking to spend a ton of money, but I'll spend what I have to to get what I need.
So basically I want some good suggestions for lower priced high end dual core, mid range 3 core, or low end quad core compatible with my motherboard.
I appreciate all advice.Last edited by BabiesInBondage; 07-10-2012 at 04:09 PM.

AMD's current line of desktop cpu's are beaten by intel in all categories - from super low-end cheap - to flagships.
In fact, their newest line of cpu's, (bulldozer), 4 core contestant: AMD FX 4100 is beaten by their own product - the Phenom II X4 - despite the fact that the phenom is ancient.
And it seems to be that AMD is also very well aware of this - they are concentrating more on cell-phone, tablet, netbook cpus. Where they have successfully gained a pretty large share of the market.
MY advice to you would be to go grab yourself an intel - something like the i3-2120.
