    Default Connecting the wires?

Hi. I'm about to build my new desktop today as the hardware comes in the mail, but I really have no clue how to connect the cables/wires once I put them all together. Like for example which plug goes to GPU or SATA and motherboard. Also, when I complete plugging them all in, is there a way to check if I have plugged something in wrong (giving it insufficient power or something)?

    Thanks

Here's a good youtube guide on building a pc:
Newegg TV: How To Build a Computer - Part 2 - The Build - YouTube

The wires - as long as the plug fits into the socket, it's fine. Theirs no requirement of any particular order - except for cable management. (Basically you don't want to clutter your case)
Building a PC is really simple. The green plug goes into the green socket. The blue plug goes into the blue socket. The one with 4 pins goes into the socket with 4 pins. The one with 6 pins goes into the socket with 6 pins.

The major PSU plugs SHOULD be labeled, i.e. GPU, CPU, mobo etc.. Everything can pretty much go into one slot so it shouldnt be difficult.

Every wire can only go in one plug. Just match them.
Look at the components plugs, match wire to it and voila.
